As Ren-Gas partners and collaborators gather for the H2 Summit & Expo in just a few days, it is a great time to reflect on our company’s journey over the past few years.
With our innovative projects and world-class partners, Ren-Gas has established itself as a leading European hydrogen developer. Our scalable, decentralized project portfolio consists of six renewable e-methane projects, which we develop in close collaboration with leading Finnish energy utilities.
The renewable fuel generated by these projects is expected to reduce fossil fuel consumption in heavy road and maritime transport by approximately 250 million liters annually. Ren-Gas integrates various sectors to efficiently utilize process heat as district heating and provide demand response services to the national grid. The company’s projects will help reduce over one million tons of CO₂ emissions annually in the transport and energy sectors. The e-methane produced will be powered by Finnish wind energy.
There are four key elements to the success of Ren-Gas’s platform. First, Ren-Gas’s way of working is focused on collaboration, fact-based decision-making, and the strength of our company culture. Our in-house H2 optimization platform, NRG-SIMO, has supported us in building the H2 value chain and defining business models with key project partners. Our strong technical team has established partnerships with leading technology providers in the nascent hydrogen industry. By bringing all these factors together, Ren-Gas has been able to design projects that meet the strict requirements of financiers.
Our first project in Tampere is set to begin construction in the coming months, paving the way for our platform. Therefore, the upcoming H2 Summit & Expo is the perfect time to share more details about our journey, together with our partners across the project value chain.
