Dr Pirita Mikkanen is a Vice President, Energy at Metsä Group that creates growth with future from northern wood. She leads Metsä Group Energy team which masters energy assets and cost efficient operations, energy markets as well as energy efficiency for 30 mills in 6 countries. Energy team has substantial role in Metsä Group’s 2030 fossil free mission.

Pirita is internationally experienced professional in energy and climate solutions. She has gained wide competence through different positions and has strength in strategic views and capability to implement strategy into actions. Experience working both on supplier’s and customer’s side and in venturing gives her perspective of the complete business. Pirita’s extensive experience and expertise in climate solutions makes her valuable member of Metsä’s Bio-CO₂ team.
