Involved for several years in development of the green hydrogen market in Sweden, Pawel is a graduate of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the Krakow University of Technology. He has over 2 decades of broad managerial experience from the Swedish automotive industry, in particular within product strategy and management, business development and industry transformation related to rollout of battery electric vehicles. He works as Head of Projects at the Swedish national hydrogen association, Vätgas Sverige. He was leading Nordic Hydrogen Corridor initiative supported by EU program Connecting Europe Facility, established to pave the way for the development of hydrogen infrastructure for road transports in Sweden. He is the project manager of Baltic Sea Region Hydrogen Council, which is a joint effort of hydrogen organizations representing the Baltic countries and Ukraine in building an integrated hydrogen market in the Baltic Sea area.

Hydrogen Summit
Panel Debate on collaboration opportunities for the Baltic Sea Region countries to build an integrated hydrogen market.
The workshop aims to promote collaboration on renewable hydrogen in the Baltic Sea Region and Ukraine. It gathers industry stakeholders and experts to examine the hydrogen value chain and cross-sectoral applications. By combining expertise from various sectors, the initiative seeks to address key challenges and leverage opportunities for scaling renewable hydrogen solutions, fostering sustainability and energy security. This collaborative effort strengthens regional integration while supporting a clean energy transition and achieving climate goals. Workshop themes include transnational value chains for low-carbon hydrogen, large-scale hydrogen storage and distribution, cross-sectoral applications, strategy and policy collaboration, and competence transfer to Ukraine.
The project focuses on fostering collaboration on renewable hydrogen in the Baltic Sea Region and Ukraine. It brings together industry stakeholders and experts to explore the hydrogen value chain, emphasizing large-scale hydrogen storage, distribution, and cross-sectional applications. Additionally, the initiative promotes dialogue on policy alignment and strategic cooperation to advance hydrogen technologies and infrastructure. By integrating expertise across sectors, the project aims to address key challenges and opportunities in scaling renewable hydrogen solutions, ensuring sustainability and energy security. This collaborative effort enhances regional cohesion while contributing to a clean energy transition and broader climate goals.
The Baltic Sea basin countries have unique opportunities in developing the hydrogen economy. Abundant renewable energy sources, especially offshore wind farms, enable significant electricity production, which can be stored and distributed affordably using hydrogen. Hydrogen facilitates surplus energy storage and redistribution to emerging markets, supported by large-scale infrastructure projects like hydrogen transmission from Finland to Germany and storage in salt caverns. Green hydrogen derivatives, such as e-ammonia and e-methanol, offer additional trade potential. The Baltic Sea Region Hydrogen Council fosters international cooperation, knowledge sharing, and joint initiatives. The panel debate participants will address opportunities, challenges, and expectations for an integrated hydrogen market.
